This is a photo taken about 2 weeks ago of Tinker in the back and Maggie upfront. They were best buds as you can tell. It’s almost like they knew their time together was limited. Chama, my crazy dog, took great care of her. Knowing she was older, she would lick her face and make sure she was comfortable. Tinker passed last Friday .
I adopted Tinker from the old Santa Fe Shelter when she was about 4 months old. It was shortly after that I started volunteering at the shelter. She was a Shep X. This is a term we used at the shelter for any dog coming in that we weren’t sure about the breed. She was very shy all her life and had to really know you before she would go up to you. One of the funniest experiences I ever had with her was when we drove to Dallas to see my Dad. We arrived in the afternoon & immediately went to the backyard. Tinker just froze…..she had never seen grass before and refused to go. Luckily, my other dog, Suque, was more adventurous and finally coaxed her in.
She has now joined her two little brothers, Chaco & Chelly, who passed before her. I know they are having a ball and I will see them again.
