Dr. Ann McCampbell just sent out this alert:
“I just heard tonight that the new Parks Division Director, Richard
Thompson, has ordered Roundup to be used in all Santa Fe parks. Even
tho the City Ordinance specifies that only the IPM Coordinator can
approve of pesticide use, since Mr. Thompson is Dick Fagerlund’s boss
(Dick is City IPM Coordinator), he’s decided to take matters into his
own hands.“City Councilor Patti Bushee has been alerted. She has been a strong
advocate for no pesticides in the past and hopefully she can get this
turned around, but in any case we need to pummel the city with phone
calls of outrage.“Please call the mayor Javier Gonzales at 955-6590 and ask him to stop
this nonsense.“If you live within the City limits, please also call your City
Councilors. Hopefully you have their numbers, if not, you can get them
from the City Manager’s office
